Hare & Hounds is a local, friendly pub situated at the South end of Abbey Village near Roddlesworth reservoir. Hare & Hounds is welcome to all and is proud to be a dog-friendly pub.

Food is served 7 days a week, and we serve a wide range of German and English food.

A range of entertainment is also provided for you as we have a darts board, pool table, BT Sports is shown for the football and much more.

Hare & Hounds serves a varied range of delicious German and English food 6 days a week. All our food is freshly prepared and cooked to order.

Every 3rd Sunday of the month at Hare & Hounds is Roast Dinner Sunday, so be sure to get yourself down to enjoy a proper Sunday roast!

Nice walk around the reservoir and finished off with some good hearty food. Really good portion size and the price was very fair. Cosy, lots of character, nice fire and a pleasant atmosphere. Held a function here yesterday and was so impressed by the helpfulness, friendliness and organisation of the owners and staff! Called here after a walk we got caught in the rain so it was nice to sit in this lovely warm pub good selection of beers everybody was friendly. First time I have been here but won’t be my last.

Hare & Hounds is awesome! We always nip in after a walk around the Res. Friendly, warm home from home. And the best part is that my dog is made so welcome! The owners and staff are lovely! Food is tasty too.

What a great surprise this place was! We dropped in for an impromptu lunch only to find that there was a German menu available with traditional dishes! Being a big fan of German food meant this was promising. The food arrived and looked superb and the best bit was, it tasted even better than it looked. All freshly made with evidently good ingredients. Amazing. Wonderful service as well which is always a bonus! We shall soon become regulars here!

This is a great little country pub. Locals, walkers, cyclist, bikers, great beer, value for money food. The landlady is German and they even have a German selection of German food on the menu. The staff are friendly and look after you. Kids welcome and dogs allowed in leads. Definitely worth a visit.
