Whether its the orange glow of the wood crackling in the stove, the scenic views of lush Lancashire countryside all around, the warm traditional decor, the aroma of freshly cooked, home-made food, the easy smile of a genuine welcome or the friendliest atmosphere you are likely to find, we know that once you visit The Hare and Hounds in Abbey Village, you will want to visit often.

We have loved this pub and the glorious countryside for many years, finally deciding we loved it enough to buy it. The Hare and Hounds is a firm favourite, not only with the ‘locals’ who are as familiar as family, but also with the many visitors who take advantage of the excellent walks and countryside in this area of outstanding natural beauty. As there are so many walkers and particularly four legged ones taking their owners out, we always welcome dogs (providing ample water and tasty biscuit treats for them).

We serve hearty, flavourful, home-made food every day, plus traditional Sunday Roasts with all the trimmings on Sundays. Wherever possible, we take advantage of the fresh local produce available to ensure the best quality and taste in all that we prepare. Our choice of ales, wines, beers, spirits and soft drinks is varied and we have quality, live entertainment every Saturday night as well as weekly quiz nights and folk sessions every month.

With a pool room, comfy seating, ample parking, outdoor tables amidst the most perfect scenery you could hope to find and tranquillity as standard, we truly look forward to making you welcome here at The Hare and Hounds. Coach parties are welcomed too, but please do make sure you book in advance for large groups as we are very popular!
