About us
We are very proud of our delightful pub here amidst the Walkers’ trails and nature’s stunning scenery at the edge of Abbey Village in Lancashire. Abbey Village is in most of the guides to the area for Walkers as it is a part of a route through the countryside that is of particular interest to those who enjoy not only the nature of the place, but the history, mystery and charm too. The Hare and Hounds is the only pub in the village, so a natural stopping point for Walkers in need of refreshment and rest.
Our traditional decor, wood burning stove and friendly atmosphere mean that our visitors always become regulars. Although small, we have a big range of choice available:
Dining
The ingredients for our delicious, freshly prepared food are sourced locally, wherever possible, for quality and flavour. We have a broad range of dishes to suit all tastes with vegetarian and children’s choices too. If you have any special dietary needs, do let us know and we will do our very best. We welcome large groups and coach parties, with prior booking though please.
Drinking
With ample choice of beers, ales, wines, spirits and soft drinks and just the most perfect setting in which to enjoy them, The Hare and Hounds is ideal for a drink amongst friends.
Dogs
You are most welcome and we have tasty treats and water waiting for you. Your owners too will find much to make them smile.
Entertainment
Each week our locals and visitors pit their wits on our Thursday Quiz Night and on Saturdays, can be found enjoying the fabulous live entertainment. Each month, we open our hearts, doors and applause to our exceptionally popular Folk Sessions. We also have a pool room for those in the mood.
